No Casualty in Three-Storey Building Collapse In Lagos – NEMA Confirms RovingNaija’s Exclusive Report

Territorial Coordinator National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), has confirmed that there was no casualty in the collapsed three-story building in Surulere, Lagos as exclusively reported by RovingNaija Reporters.

The building, which is located at No 14 Ikpoh, Street, Ikate, Surulere caved in on Friday night after showing sign of structural defect.

According to an eyewitness account, the occupants we gathered ran outside immediately they noticed that the building was crumbling as the authorities had earlier warned them to evacuate the building as it was distressed.

One of the building’s occupants, Mr. Gervase Anyanwu, in his account said that all occupants were able to run out safely after hearing a tumultuous sound from one of the building wings.

Anyanwu attributed the absence of casualties to the quick response and evacuation of the occupants, calling it a result of divine grace.

Another resident on the street mentioned that the building had exhibited significant signs of distress before its collapse and there have been warnings from concerned citizens for the occupants to vacate before the building caused any havoc.
