Osinbajo urges Muslims to practise kindness, love during Ramadan
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has admonished urged Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria to imbibe the virtues of kindness, love and generosity during Ramadan.
Prof Osinbajo spoke on Wednesday at the State House in Abuja after he presided over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting.
He said: “I must express my very sincere greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters who have begun the Ramadan fast already.
“This is not just a time for abstinence from food, drink and other worldly pleasures. It is a time of rededication to the higher virtues of love, kindness, generosity, and consideration for others regardless of faith or ethnicity,” he said.
Osinbajo, who wished Muslims a happy Ramadan, enjoined Nigerians from all walks of life regardless of religious persuasion to embrace the virtues of unity, peaceful co-existence and reconciliation.
He said that it is only through the cultivation of the right virtues that Nigeria can achieve all of the objectives of the present administration.
