Tinubu’s Camp Reveals Real Owner Of The Controversial Oriental Hotel & How He Was Linked To It

The explanation given by the Tinubu Campaign Organization on live TV on Sunday might possibly put to rest the controversy trailing the ownership of Oriental Hotel, Lekki Lagos.

The hotel which is one of the magnificent structures based in Lekki was controversially linked to the former governor of Lagos by many Lagosians as one of the many outfits he established while in government between 1999 and 2007.

On Sunday, former commissioner for Information and strategy Dele Alake who is one of the spokespersons in charge of communication and strategy of the Tinubu Campaign Organization gave an insight into the real ownership of the company and why it was linked to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to Dele Alake, Tinubu is not the owner of Oriental Hotel. The Hotel is owned by WEMCO group of companies, the company that owns the industrial estate called Wemco and located in Ogba Lagos.

He revealed that if anyone gets to Wemco’s offices and also goes to Oriental Hotel, he will realize the similarities in all the buildings.

On Tinubu’s roles in the hotel, Alake said the building was constructed and commissioned under the regime of Bola Tinubu. He disclosed that it was Tinubu who officially cut the ribbon which officially unveiled the hotel in Lagos.

How does commissioning of a project in a state where you govern make the project your private property? Dele Alake asked rethorically.

He affirmed that Tinubu does not own a single shares in the hotel and he is not the owner of companies that Nigerians are inking to him. He said the former governor made his money through selling and buying of stocks before he entered politics.
