These 11 universities are not part of ASUU strike

The strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities has entered day 204, however, some universities are not taking part in the industrial action.

The seven months old strike has crippled academic activities in mostly federal universities as all the 11 schools not partaking are owned by the state government.

Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Rivers State University, and Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, are some of the schools currently holding academic activites.

Universities owned by Osun, Delta, Borno, Anambra, Kwara and Akwa Ibom states are also having academic activities.

At the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, academic activities were going on as many of the students were writing examinations on Monday.

Meanwhile, ahead of the National Universities Commission meeting with vice-chancellors and pro-chancellors of federal universities today (Tuesday), the Federal Government on Monday vowed to end the culture of strikes in tertiary institutions in the country.
