NJC now to meet on Tuesday as CCT adjourns Justice Onnoghen’s trial indefinitely

The meeting of the National Judicial Council (NJC) which was originally scheduled for Monday is now to hold on Tuesday.

Following the development, the Code of Conduct Tribunal has adjourned indefinitely the trial of suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen.

The meeting of the NJC was called to deliberate on the allegations against Justice Onnoghen as well as his suspension by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The spokesman of NJC, Mr. Soji Oye, is reported to have confirmed the schedule of the meeting for Tuesday in Abuja.

The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Monday has adjourned the trial Onnoghen, indefinitely.

The Tribunal adjourned the proceedings at the resumed sitting on Monday in Abuja, pending the determination of the application filed at the Court of Appeal.
