 Five Confirmed Dead, Others Injured In Ondo Fatal Accident 

It was a black sunday in the ancient town of Ikaram Akoko in Akoko Northwest local government area of ondo state as a lone accident claimed 5 lives while many occupants of the 18 passengers Jos bound commercial bus had various degrees of injuries.

An eyewitness account said the ill fated bus had a tyre burst while it was on high speed at a junction leading to Ajowa Akoko and Akunu Akoko.

Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ikare unit with police and sympathiesers were involved in the rescue operations as many people were in tears and wailing.

The unit commander of FRSC Ikare Akoko, Mr Oluropo Alabi warned drivers against recklessness and the use of expired tyres while also obeying other roads regulations.

Efforts to speak with the Chief Medical Officer, Ikare Specialist Hospital, Dr Ade Idowu were unsuccessful but a mortuary attendant who didn’t want his name mentioned disclosed that six bodies had been deposited in the morgue while many others were in emergency ward of the hospital.

The paramount ruler of Ikaram Akoko, Oba Andrew Momodu said the community had approached Federal Ministry of Works and FERMA to make speed breaker around the junction which always record incessant motor accidents.
