Pro-Ambode Supporters fight back, take protest to the Lagos State Assembly

In a move to stop the planned impeachment of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, some of his supporters, Wednesday, stormed the State House of Assembly to protest against the planned action by the lawmakers.

The placard wielding protesters said that the removal of the incumbent Governor would disrupt the peaceful conduct of the general elections just as they threatened to vote against the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, should the lawmakers carry out their planned action.

Among other things, the protesters want the house to allow Mr. Ambode complete his tenure which terminates in exactly four months on 29 May this year.

It would be recalled that the State House of Assembly has commenced the gathering of signatures for a possible impeachment of the governor who was accused of spending money without the approval of the house.

The Governor was given seven days to respond to the allegations of face possible impeachment.
