Second time lucky: Former CSO to Tinubu now Kwara Police Commissioner

…as Lagos CP Edgal Imohimi is again redeployed

Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, a former Chief Security Officer to former Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State has been appointed as the Commissioner of Police in Kwara State and will superintend the elections that begin next Saturday.

It would be recalled that Mr. Egbetokun was recently deployed to take over from Edgal Imohimi as the Police Commissioner for Lagos State before he was directed through “an order from above” to respect the status quo.

However, the maintenance of the “status quo” in Lagos State has run its full course with the approval of a new Commissioner of Police, Mu’azu Zubairu, to take over from Imohimi Edgal as CP for the command.

The Police Service Commission has approved the appointments and deployments along with 36 other officer of the Nigerian Police Force.

Their appointment came following a recommendation by the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, to the commission.

Details of the approval and deployment are contained in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday by the Commission’s Spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani.

According to the Commission, the CPs are expected to proceed immediately to their new Commands ahead of the 2019 general elections.
