Police arrest two suspects over kidnap of Lagos Fire Service Chief, six others

The Lagos state command of the Nigeria police say they have arrested two suspected members of the kidnap gang that abducted Lagos State Fire Service director, Rasaki Musibau, and six others.

Mr Musibau and six other persons were abducted last Saturday at about 8.00pm at Ketu-Ereyun, Ikorodu area of Lagos.

Police had on Wednesday morning announced their freedom saying that the victims had since reunited with their families.

Lagos police spokesman, Bala Elkana, in a statement on Wednesday said the suspects were arrested at about 5:30 am at Ibafun, along Ikorodu-Ijebu Ode Expressway, a boundary community with Ogun State.

The suspects identified as 29-year-old Blessing Bayo and 32-year-old Smart Alfred, are indigenes of Arogbo, Ondo State.

The spokesman also said that two single barrel guns were recovered from them and that investigation was still on to arrest other “fleeing members of the gang.”
