Former governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Tanko has denied Almakura media reports of any strain in his relationship with his successor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule.

Senator Almakura who spoke in Lafia, the state capital following his recent victory at the election tribunal, urged the people of the state to ignore the antics of some “disgruntled elements” seeking to instigate misunderstanding between him and his successor.

The senator who stressed that there is no problem if the incumbent governor seeks advice from former leaders or any citizen of the state in the discharge of his duties also commended the people Nasarawa for their foresight in electing two professionals as governor and deputy governor to pilot their affairs.

In a statement made available to RovingNaija.com, the former governor cum lawmaker said the state is lucky to have Engineer Sule as governor and Dr Emmanuel Akabe as deputy governor. According to the former governor, they are two core professionals that have made their marks in the field of engineering and medicine respectively.

Almakura said, “You can search across the country and you will not find where two core professionals are both governor and deputy.” The former governor however called on the people of Nasarawa state to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration both at the state and federal levels, stressing that Engineer Sule is poised to bring more development to the state.

Commenting on the judgment of the tribunal, where the case filed by Senator Solomon Adokwe of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), challenging his victory during the February 23 election was dismissed, Almakura hinged his victory on the failure of the petitioner to establish his case as well as the submissions of his lawyers that convinced tribunal to uphold the election.

Speaking at the occasion, leader of the APC in Nasarawa South and state deputy governor, Dr Emmanuel congratulated the governor on his victory at the tribunal.
