What Dele Alake Said When Asked About Tinubu’s Real Identity, State Of Origin & Primary School

Many issues have being on the spotlight about the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his campaign spokespersons have been working round the clock to set the record straight whenever the opportunities avail them.

Such was the case with the former Lagos State commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Dele Alake while he appeared on Channels TV Sunday Politics programme.

The Director of Communication and Strategy of the Tinubu Campaign Organization was literally grilled by Seun Okinbaloye during the one hour political programme.

Asked to clarify the controversy that is trailing Tinubu’s real Identity, parents and primary school certificate, Alake said most of the people that are sweating over these questions are only looking for ways to discredit the former Lagos governor.

He explained that “Bola Tinubu” is the name of the APC presidential candidate and that is what is in all his documents. Since 1999 that Tinubu came to politics, no one has been able to prove that he bears other name than Bola Ahmed Tinubu that is generally known in the public.

Whoever has a proof that he is given another birth name should come up with documented facts to show that his name is not Bola Tinubu that is widely known. But as for him and other associates, there is no other name they know than the one in the public.

Also speaking about his state of origin, Alake said anyone who knows about Tinubu’s other state aside Lagos should also provide the evidence that he and his parents are not Lagosians. But as at today, the only existing state of origin on his documents is Lagos State and we all know the part of Lagos he comes from.

Similarly, the former Commissioner disclosed that Tinubu’s primary school certificate should not be an issue to debate in the public. He said Tinubu is well educated and his degrees certificate has been presented to the public.

He noted that it is not possible for someone who did not attend a primary school to proceed to secondary or higher institution.

He cited the case of the late Queen of England who had no educational background and today, she is the most celebrated woman in the world even in death.

He recalled that in those days, many didn’t go to primary school. They would stay at home, read books and write exams and pass.

Alake disclosed that what really matter is Tinubu’s experience and intelligence. It is not what people are currently talking about. He said all those things don’t translate to good governance.

Whoever has any contrary name or place of origin about Tinubu should come with proofs. Alake said.
