Blackface finally releases African Queen

By Samuel Onyekwere.

At last, after several years of accusations, counter accusations and
denial over who owns the original copyright to the popular song,
African Queen, Augustine Ahmedu, has finally released his own version
of the song.

Ahmedu, popularly known as Blackface, had on different fora
and medium accused Innocent Idibia (Tubaba) another member of the
defunct Plantashion Boyz, of stealing his song, ‘African Queen’,
which became a major hit in 2004.

This latest African Queen song which has a reggae beat, one hopes,
will be able to break into the market as Blackface has continuously
struggled to stake a strong claim in the industry like his other
former group members; Innocent Idibia(Tubaba) and Chibuzor Orji
(face).

Music lovers believe that this recent release may have finally settled the rift between the two who are both from Benue State . Both
of them were said to have performed together at a show in FESTAC a
couple of days ago.
