The real reason why rice farmers were killed by Boko Haram -Gov Zulum

The Governor of Borno State Prof Babagana Zulum has denied the recent claim by the military that the people of his state are not providing information to the military about the activities of Boko Haram terrorists.

Gov Zulum said that contrary to claims by military sources, the terrorist group is killing citizens of his state because they provided information to the military.

In a statement by his spokesperson, Isa Gusau, the governor dismissed the claim that the people of his state were not cooperating or giving intelligence to the military.

Gusau recalled that the deadly Boko Haram group itself confirmed that its fighters killed Zabarmari farmers for giving out intelligence to the military.

“This is one of many consequences of Borno peoples’ cooperation in years now. Many have died for giving intelligence to soldiers, yet the communities wont stop. Many have followed soldiers to the battles and died, yet the wont stop. Let us hear one idiot accuse the Borno people again.

“They say that Borno people do not cooperate but here is the latest example; the Boko Haram just announced that they beheaded dozens of Zabarmari farmers for informing soldier about their movement and for capturing one of their men and handling over to soldiers recently,” he said in a tweet on his official handle @SpokesmanBornoG.
