Lagos Fulfils Promise To Ajeromi-Ifelodun LCDA

The inhabitants of Cardoso Street in the Ajeromi/Ifelodun area of Lagos have every reason to be joyful as their long years of suffering due to the deplorable nature of their road have come to an end with the completion of the Mma – Cardoso road project.

The Mma – Cardoso street road project was awarded to Messrs.’ Banci Nigeria, in March 2020, but the execution commenced in July 2020.

The 3350km road that was constructed in 18 months was recently commissioned by Governor Babajide Sanwo- Olu, who was represented by his deputy Olufemi Hamzat.

The governor emphasized on the commitment of his government to continue to ease the problem and challenges of commuters and transporters in the state by constantly improving on the transportation facilities. He noted that the road has direct positive impacts on the residents of the area and urged them to take good care of it as government sunk a lot of money to ensure that the road is put in proper shape. The governor thanked the residents for supporting his government and promised to embark on more developmental projects that will positively affect the lives of the Ajeromi/Ifelodun people.

The Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure to the governor, Engr Aramide Adeyoye, said the commissioning of the project demonstrates government’s commitment to put in place infrastructure that will both enhance the well-being of citizens and empower them across economic activities. He said the construction of the road is in line with the pillar T, in the THEMES agenda of Gov. Sanwo Olu; which stands for traffic management and transportation, adding that this administration has kept its promise of improving the lives of the people and also drive massive socio – economic growth through infrastructure upgrade and renewal.

He said will also inject considerable life into the socio –economic activities of thousands of people who live, do business, or use the route to connect to their various destinations. “It will enhance productive exchanges, boost trade, traffic circle and improve the quality of lives of the users,” he said.
