Nigerian Striker Wins Anderlecht Goal of the Month

Nigeria forward Paul Mukairu has emerged winner of the Anderlecht Goal of the Month award for November

The 20-year old scored a fantastic goal in his League debut for Anderlecht against Royal Antwerp.

Mukairu was brought in as a replacement for Sierra Leone’s Mustapha Bundu three minutes after the hour mark and scored the winning goal in the 76th minute.

The young prodigy beat three other players; Lukas Nmecha, Laura Deloose and Laura De Neve to claim the coveted November award.

Mukairu has scored one goal and provided two assists in five league appearances for Anderlecht this season as he continues to grab the headlines with his superlative performances.

Mukairu recalled the events leading up to his historic goal: “It was a tough week, I had only three trainings, I guess (before the game).

“I came in and scored the winning goal in an important game, it was my first game.”

He promised more going forward.

“I will keep working hard and hopefully get a second goal,” he vowed.

The Nigerian striker linked up with the Belgian Pro League club from Turkish outfit Antalyaspor on a one-year loan deal this summer and there are suggestions that Anderlecht may likely go on to make the loan deal permanent.
