The Senate has summoned the Minister of Defence, Bashir Salihi Magashi, all Service Chiefs and the Head of Department of State Service to the chamber to answer to “seemingly” unending insecurity situation in the country.
The resolution followed a motion moved by Senator Bello Mandiya from Katsina State on the recent abduction of about 333 students of a secondary school in the state.
While expressing frustration that Buhari had consistently ignored all resolutions on the issue of insecurity in the country, the Senate advised President Muhammadu Buhari to implement the report of the Senate Committee on Security challenges as soon as possible.
However, Senate Members have passed vote of no confidence in the various Heads of security agencies in the country over their inability to resolve the security situation and prevent the abduction of the students.
They however passed a verdict that President Buhari as a matter of urgency should sack the service chiefs.
