Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers is unhappy that his wards were beaten 2-0 by Everton on Wednesday in the Premier League but the manager nonetheless says he is happy with the good shift put in by Nigerian midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi.
With the unavoidable absence of the duo of Jonny Evans and Caglar Soyuncu due to injuries, Rodgers was forced to play Ndidi in central defence against the Toffees and the Nigerian performed creditably well in the adapted position .
“Yeah. A lot of the season we’ve been struggling with injuries and whatnot to defenders, and I thought the two centre-halves were outstanding, Wesley and Wilf,” Rodgers told LFTV.
”For Wilf to go in, you think he’s played there all his career. He’s playing against a top-class striker who has made great improvements in Calvert-Lewin and I thought they gave away very little.
” Wilf was outstanding in the game but I thought Wesley was very good too.”
Ndidi who recently returned to action for Leicester City after spending over two months on the sidelines due to injury was celebrating his birthday but his celebration was ruined with the home defeat
The 24-year-old Nigerian star has made five league appearances for the Foxes this season and scored once.
