Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi emerged victorious out of 81 Professors that applied for the position of Vice Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja.
The announcement was made Friday, 18th December, 2020 by the Chairman of the Governing Council, Distinguished Senator Chris Iheanyichukwu Adighije following the conclusion of the Process of Selection.
The 81 candidates were shortlisted to 20 and 14 came for interview and 3 made the finally shortliste. They include: Prof. Olayemi Durotimi Akinwunmi, Prof. Akintayo Emmanuel Temitope and Prof. Krekere Tawari Fufeye where Prof. Akinwunmi finally emerged.
Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi hails from Ekinrin-Adde, Kogi state. The Professor is the 3rd Vice-Chancellor of Federal University, Lokoja.

Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, born on 20th January,1964 from Kogi State, is the current Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics) at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi. He is a Distinguished Professor of History and a Fellow of Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN).
