Super Eagles star sets new record in Spain

Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze has set a new record in Spain where he has emerged as the youngest player to make 100 appearances for LaLiga side Villarreal.

Chukwueze reached the impressive milestone on Tuesday when he featured in the Copa del Dey tie against Zamora.

Apart from enjoying a big win on his 100th game, Chukwueze provided the assist for the opening goal for the Yellow Submarines as they progressed with a 4-1 victory.

Having done his bit, coach Unai Emery opted to pull out Chukwueze in the 63rd minute;  replacing him with Dani Parejo in the 63rd minute.

Chukuweze has featured in 79 LaLiga games, 13 Europa League games, and also made eight appearances in the Copa del Rey, aged just 21 years, seven months, and 11 days.

Mutiu Adepoju, who is LaLiga Ambassador in Nigeria has congratulated Chukwueze for his great achievement at a tender age.

He wrote on his Twitter handle:

Dear @chukwueze_8, becoming @Eng_Villarreal youngest centurion ever is a very beautiful accomplishment for you. Well-done on this and I hope this unlocks other hidden potentials in you. Wishing you greater success ahead. #LaLiga
