Labour Party Factional Chair, Lamidi Apapa Booed As He Makes His Way Out Of Court Premises

It was a Tuesday morning filled with drama and engaging spectacles at the ongoing Presidential Election Petition Tribunal in Abuja.

As the court sat to proceed on the hearing in the petition raised by the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi against the candidate of the All Progressives Congress Party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the February 25 presidential election, the hallow chamber erupted in chaos.

Factional Chairman of Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa was trying to impose himself as the representative of the party while the party women leader had earlier introduced herself as the bonafide representative.

The disagreement between the two party chieftains made the court adjourn the proceeding to Friday and asked the disagreed parties to leave the court.

On his way out of the premises, Lamidi Apapa was booed by labour party supporters who waited for him outside the court.

As Apapa struggled to get to where his car was parked under his security shield, the crowd kept following him, recording him with their phones and booing him at the same time.

The incident became more dramatic when someone in the crowd removed Apapa’s cap and fled.

He had attempted to speak with a group of journalists after the proceedings but the endless noise disrupted the process.

Apapa eventually walked away but he was overshadowed by the crowd.
