EPL: Manchester United Crush Southampton 9-0

Goals and red cards were the hallmarks from Tuesday’s Premier League games as the EPL keeps getting more dramatic with each passing matchday.

At Old Trafford, United put up an incredible performance as they crushed a 9-man Southampton team 9-0.

The signs of a difficult day at the office were evident for Southampton when Alexandre Jankewitz was red-carded barely 150 seconds into the game.

The Red Devils never wasted time to make their numerical advantage count as Aaron Wan-Bissaka shot United into the lead in the 18th minute and seven minutes after Marcus Rashford doubled the advantage.

An own goal from Jan Bednarek made matters worse for the Saints before Edison Cavani compounded their woes with his 39th-minute goal which ensured United were 4-0 leader at half time.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer men continued from where they stopped in the first half as they pumped in five goals in second 45 minutes after another Southampton player Bednarek was given a red card.

Anthony Martial scored twice while the trio of Bruno Fernades, David James and Scott McTominay had a goal each to see United secure a massive 9-0 win.

United are tied on 44 points with City though Pep Guardiola’s men enjoy a better goals difference and also have two games at hand.

Elsewhere, Arsenal squandered a 32nd-minute goal by Nicolas Pépé to fall to a 2-1 loss to Wolverhampton.

This is the Gunners’ first defeat in nine EPL games as they stay 10th on the log.

Two red cards were also recorded in that game

Meanwhile Sheffield United record their third win of the season, which boosts their survival hope.

The Blades, who are bottom of the table, close the gap on West Brom to one point with Tuesday’s 2-1 win

Crystal Palace also secured an identical scoreline in their away game against Newcastle United
