Heartland coach, three others involved in ghastly accident

Heartland FC Head Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, his two assistants and Team Manager escaped death on Monday after they were involved in a ghastly accident.

The accident happened on the Benin-Asaba expressway while the quartet was returning to their base in Owerri, the Imo State capital after their NPFL game in Lagos.

Roving Naija gathered while no life was lost in Monday’s car crash, all the occupants inside Fidelis Ilechukwu’s Toyota Venza SUV sustained varying degree of injuries.

The five-passenger mid-size crossover SUV (Sports Utility Vehicle) rammed into a Mercedes Benz 911 truck that was carrying bamboo. The incident left the windscreen and roof of the car badly damaged.

Heartland will on MatchDay 10 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) welcome Lobi Stars to the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.
