A pregnant woman, her two children and a tricycle driver have died after the tricycle popular known as ‘keke Maruwa’ that was conveying them back home along Ago palace way, Lagos was hit by a commercial bus.
An eyewitness account said the bus driver lost control as he was dragging the steering with an official of the Lagos State Transport Management Authority, LASTMA, and the bus eventually rammed into the ‘keke Maruwa’ and instantly killed the pregnant woman, her two children and the ‘keke’ driver.
Irate youths were said to have taken over the entire Ago palace road burning tires as motorists stayed off the road. As at the time of filing the report, the police have managed to bring the situation under control as they have dispersed the angry youths with tear gas.
