Protesters Storm Unity Fountain In Abuja To March against Tinubu’s Emergence As President-Elect

Some Nigerians have expressed their displeasure over the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s president- elect.

Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, polled over 8million votes to defeat his close rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party who both scored 6,984,520 and 6,102,533 votes as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday night.

Tinubu’s victory has however been punctuated with a litany of controversies following the inability of the electoral umpire to upload the polling unit results to BVAs as initially promised.

Before the final result was declared and announcement of winner, other key presidential candidates from opposition parties like Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi had expressed their grievances and withdrawal from the process, asking INEC to suspend the announcement.

They accused the electoral body of bias with the process.

Notwithstanding their stance, the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu went ahead with the result and asked the aggrieved parties to go to court if they are not satisfied with the conduct.

After declaring the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Bola Tinubu the winner of the election, a group of people stormed the unity fountain in Abuja to protest the declaration.

Below are the photos of the protestants carrying placards with different inscriptions.
