Muhammadu Sarki, an entrepreneur, has built a tomato processing factory in Katsina.
Sarki saw the need for the factory after noticing perennial loss of tomatoes in Katsina state due to lack of preservative facilities.
“After experiencing large waste of tomatoes by farmers in the state caused by lack of facilities, I took steps to put an end to the waste,” he said.
This innovation will be the first organic tomato paste plant in Nigeria , to help cut tomato paste imports.
