SPL: Leon Balogun Returns As Rangers Beat Kilmarnock
Super Eagles and Glasgow Rangers centre back, Leon Balogun returned to action in Saturday’s Scottish Premier League clash against Kilmarnock, Roving Naija reports.
The Nigeria international was solid in defence for Rangers as they pipped their opponents by a lone goal scored by Ryan Jack in the 37th minute.
Balogun, since he switched from Brighton to Rangers last July on a free transfer, hit the ground running
He has now made 21 appearances under manager Steven Gerard, but the former Wigan recently dropped to pave way for Header who many see as a perfect defensive partnership with Gordon Cornor.
With Rangers working round the clock to remain in top shape ahead of their Europa League Clash against Royal Antwerp next Thursday, Gerrard would be seeking to have a closer look at Balogun whose wealth of experience could be more valuable in Belgium.
Also, it will be a huge sigh of relief for Super Eagles gaffer who is looking forward to seeing his players in top shape ahead of 2022 AFCON qualifiers against Benin and Lesotho
