Reconciliation: Jonathan meets Saraki as PDP Moves to mend cracks

Immediate past President of Nigeria Dr. Good luck Ebele Jonathan has had a meeting with the immediate past Senate president Doctor Bukola Saraki regarding ongoing reconciliation process of members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) being headed by the latter.

As  part of efforts to resolve the internal crisis within the opposition, the party had last year appointed former Senate president, Bukola Saraki to head its national reconciliation committee.

Saraki disclosed the meeting on his twitter handle today Tuesday saying, “As part of our efforts to listen to the concerns of key stakeholders across our great party, this afternoon, the Official PDP Reconciliation and Strategy Committee is meeting with our immediate past President, H.E. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.”

According to Saraki,  former President Jonathan reassured PDP members of the Reconciliation and Strategy Committee  of his strong commitment to the party — stating that he is ready to offer his time, experience and resources to strengthen the party.

This is coming on the heels of reports stating possible defection of the former President to All Progressives Congress (APC) party.
