Corps Members Immensely Contribute To The Development Of Nasarawa State – Gov. Sule

Nasarawa State, Governor, Engr, Abdullahi Sule, has said that Corps members are contributing immensely to the development of the the state in sector such as education, health and rural infrastructure.
He said the NYSC has shown remarkable resilience in the face of various economic challenges.
Gov. Sule stated this on Tuesday while declaring open the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Pre-Mobilization Workshop with the theme; “Enhancing the NYSC Mobilization Process in the face of Contemporary Challenges”, which was held at Global Village Suites and Conference centre, Mararaba, Nasarawa State.
In a statement issued by Director, Press and Public Relations, NYSC, Mrs. Adenike Adeyemi. She quoted the Gov. Sule as saying, the agency will continue to be role model for other agencies in programme planning and implementation.
Gov. Sule, who was represented at the workshop by the Chairman, NYSC Nasarawa State Governing Board and Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Othman Bala Adam added that the NYSC Scheme remains the formidable platform for fostering the unity and development of the country.
“The Contributions of Corps Members to the development of our dear state especially in the areas of education, health and rural infrastructure have made the scheme endearing”.
“NYSC will continue to be role model for other agencies in programme planning and implementation”.
He urged all stakeholders at the workshop to map out strategies for the success of the 2021 Batch ‘A’ Mobilization Exercise.
Governor Sule further pledged to upgrade camp facilities in the state, as well as provide welfare needs of all Corps Members within the limit of available resources of his administration.
NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim in his speech noted that the workshop aimed to strengthen inter-agency collaborations for the success of the NYSC mobilization process.
He said the Scheme is committed to tackling issues that tend to undermine its mobilization exercise.
‘While we unveil policy guidelines for the 2021 mobilization, stakeholders gathered here will review issues in past exercises with a view to addressing identified challenges, and evolving strategies for improvement”.
“I wish to reaffirm the commitment of Management to enhancing the credibility of the Mobilisation process”, he said.
Ibrahim said the Scheme would continue to apply fool-proof measures to ensure that only qualified graduates are enlisted for National Service, warning that unqualified persons that attemp to present themselves for Mobilization would be apprehended and prosecuted by the law enforcement agencies.
He commended the Federal Government for approving the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course having been satisfied with the safety measures put in place by the NYSC with the guidance and support of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Registrar, Prof. lshaq Oloyede appealed to all stakeholders in the NYSC Mobilization process especially the Student Affairs Officers of Corps Producing Institutions to perform their roles with high integrity.
NYSC Director of Corps Mobilization, Victoria Ango, urged the participants to utilize the workshop as a gateway for data harvest to offer the NYSC Scheme the desired opportunity to review its operations for more rewarding performances.
