Incoming reports indicate that another Nigeria Professional Football League club, Akwa United has been involved in a ghastly road accident.
The club on their official page wrote: We have been involved in an accident along Ezionye Express road in Enugu on our way to Kaduna for our NPFL Match-day 15 game against Jigawa Golden Stars. Players and officials have sustained injuries. One player and two officials have been taken to the hospital
Veteran journalist, Godwin Enahenka broke the news on his Twitter handle though he did not specify if there were any casualty in what looks like a serious road mishap.
He wrote: Akwa utd involved in a serious accident in Enugu. players and officials injured on their way to Kaduna. Lord have mercy!
Akwa United were on their way to Kaduna for their NPFL game against Jigawa Golden Stars before this unfortunate incident.
After starting the season on a shaky note, the Promise Keepers have since picked up and are occupying the fifth position on the NPFL log after 14 matches.
