NWFL: Rivers Angels target win over Sunshine Queens

Players of Rivers Angels FC have promised to bounce back from their first league defeat as they welcome Sunshine Queens of Akure this midweek.

The Jewel of Rivers were beaten 2-1 by FC Robo in Matchday 10 of the Nigeria Women Football league (NWFL) Premiership thereby giving a 4-point lead to rivals, Bayelsa Queens.
This setback will however not deter ‘The New Vision Queens’ as they are called as they have promised to get every maximum point going forward.
Rivers Angels forward, Maryann Ezenagu says the target is to close in the gap on the table.
“We are all ready to play despite last week’s loss to FC Robo,” Ezenagu began.
“The attackers are going to ensure we convert our chances henceforth.
“This match will be won by us so we can close in on Bayelsa Queens.
“We can’t afford to drop more points going forward so we will be giving it our all,” she said.
Also speaking ahead of Wednesday’s game is forward, Ikechukwu Vivian who says it is important to pick up a win over Sunshine Queens.
“The game against FC Robo wasn’t a good one despite our efforts,” Ikechukwu said.
“We are back on track and the mood in camp is high right now.
“The 4 points gap on the log is quite huge but I know we can reduce it and even go top.
“All we need to do is win the game against Sunshine Queens to close in,” she added.
