Breaking: Ayo Fayose addresses Gov Makinde as PDP Southwest Leader

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Monday, formerly addressed Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State as the leader of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-west.

In a trending video posted by @OyoAffairs on twitter, Fayose was seen making reconciliatory overtures to Engr. Makinde at the PDP South-west Congress in Oshogbo, Osun State, to the amazement of politicians and party leaders.

Fayose, who said he is using the opportunity of the congress to seek forgiveness from anybody who might have been offended by his words or actions in the past then spoke directly to Governor Makinde saying:

“Seyi Makinde is my leader. He is our leader and remains our leader. Enemies should not come in between us because we are one.

“The burning issue in PDP is circumstantial. Who is our leader? Seyi Makinde is our leader. Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola is our leader. Segun Oni is our leader and whatever the outcome of the elections may be, I will accept it in good manner.

In his response, Engr. Makinde described the PDP voting process as an internal family affair and called on all party members to trust the decision and outcome of the voting process without disturbing the party’s peace.

He stated that the objective of the Congress is to reposition the party and gave assurances to party members and stalwarts that the outcome of the congress will be taken as a family affair.

“At the end of the exercise,” he said, “there will be no victor, no loser and whoever that wins will have my support and I will work with him.”
