Eight persons arrested in Kano for refusing to partake in Ramadan fasting

The Kano State Government, working through the Hisbah Board has arrested eight persons over their alleged refusal to partake in the traditional fasting during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

The defaulters were arrested on Thursday at Tudun Murtala in Nassarawa Local Government Area and Hudebiyya in Sharada in Kano.

In a statement, the Executive Director of the board, Dr Aliyu Kibiya, who confirmed that the arrests were made following reports from residents of the areas said that the board would continue to conduct raids in all parts of the state to curb the development.

Those arrested include five females and three males. They were seen eating in the afternoon in the month of Ramadan.
