We did not endorse Adelabu for 2023 Guber election in Oyo – ALGON

The members of the Oyo State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), have denied media report of endorsing the candidature of Adebayo Adelabu of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 gubernatorial election in the state.

In a statement on Monday, chairman of the association, Prince Abass Aleshinloye described as falsehood the information making the round that the Association has endorsed Chief Adebayo Adelabu for the 2023 gubernatorial ambition in is false.

The chairman clarified that individual preferences and personal leanings should not be mixed up with the official standing of the association while adding that there was nothing bad in honoring invitation from party members but members should guard against being quoted out of context.

He accused journalists of misrepresenting individual positions as the official position of an association.

“The action of the journalist to misrepresent the opinion of individual chairman or some chairmen attending a programme to be the official position of ALGON as a body, is unfair and condemnable.

He again reiterated that his association did not endorse any person for any office.
