UCL: Chelsea secure away draw against Real Madrid

Chelsea have secured a potentially vital away goal following the 1-1 draw they recorded against Real Madrid Tuesday night in their Champions League semi-final first-leg tie.

Chelsea came well-prepared for Los Blancos and they did not wait for too long when they took the lead in the 13th minute through Christian Pulisic.

After receiving the pass from Mason Mount, Pulisic expertly rounded Thibaut Courtois to give Thomas Tuchel’s side the perfect start.

He also became the first American player to score in a UEFA Champions League semi-final and the youngest Chelsea player to score in a semi-final match in the competition.

The Blues had a couple of chances to extend their lead but they failed to take them and that saw Real Madrid find their back into game through their dangerman Karim Benzema.

Benzema latched onto a couple of knockdowns in the Chelsea area to level the scores in thumping fashion before the half-hour mark.

There is all to play for in the second leg even though Chelsea appears to have a slight advantage over their Spanish opponents.

On his part, Thomas Tuchel extended his unbeaten run against Real Madrid to five games on Tuesday.
