Festus Keyamo Reacts To INEC Declaration Of Fintiri As Winner Of Adamawa’s Election

The Spokesperson of Tinubu Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo has reacted to the declaration of Govenernor Ahmadu Fintiri as winner of the just concluded governorship election in Adamawa State.

The governor was declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission on Tuesday evening after days of dramatic rerun election that started on Saturday.

Fintiri was re-elected for a second term having scored the highest votes in the election.

He beats his closest rival, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other contestants after the supplementary election conducted on 15th April, 2023.

Announcing the result of the election in Yola, the Returning Officer, Prof. Mohammed Mele said Governor Fintiri polled 430, 821 votes to defeat Senator Binani who secured 398,788 votes.

With the official announcement of the result, Fintiri has been declared governor-elect, with Professor Kaletapwa Farauta as his deputy governor-elect.

Reacting to the declaration, Festus Keyamo who is also the Minister of Labour and Employment identified the hypocrisy that has pervaded the country’s political landscape.

He shared his opinion on his verified twitter handle shortly after the announcement of the results and declaration of winner.

He said: “Anytime the opposition wins, whether on the field or in the courts, it is justice! Anytime the ruling party wins, whether on the field or in the courts, it is injustice! Hypocrites with double standards everywhere!”
