NPFL: Ahmed Musa Leads Kano Pillars To Victory
Ahmed Musa has hit the ground running for Kano Pillars in his second stint with the club.
In his first game for Pillars on Sunday, Musa bagged an assist for the club in their 1-0 win over Adamawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League tie played at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna.
It is worthy to mote that Musa staging a return to Pillars, 10 years after he left the club for a move to Dutch side VVV Venlo.
To highlight the high expectation placed on him, Musa was handed the captain’s armband just before the kickoff of Sunday’s game and he did not disappoint as his ingenuity made the way for Pillars in the surprisingly tough duel.
After Rabiu Alli missed an earlier penalty kick awarded to Pillars, Musa in the 80th minute set up Ali again with a through pass and this time the veteran midfielder finished off with his left foot to make amends for his earlier missed penalty kick.
With the three points from Sunday’s game, Pillars are level on 40 points with Akwa United but the Uyo team are ahead with their better goals difference.
Having failed to win the league title while with Pillars, Musa has said he wants to do that now in his second stint.
