President Buhari sacks NBC DG Prof Idachaba

President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the Director-General (acting) of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), Professor Armstrong Idachaba.

Prof Idachaba, an academic, has been replaced with Mr Balarabe Shehu Ilelah.

The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, announced the appointment of Ilelah in a statement issued in Abuja on Friday.

He said Mr. Ilelah’s appointment is for a tenure of five years in the first instance.

Mr Ilelah, a politician and broadcaster, had a stint with NTA Bauchi before travelling out of the country.

He grew up in Bauchi, attended Kobi primary school, Bauchi, as well as Junior Secondary School Misau.

He is a graduate of Bayero University Kano.
