Top Nigerian Coach Feared Kidnapped
There are fears around the whereabouts of one of the top coaches in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Stanley Eguma.
According to NigerianFootballer.com, the Rivers United manager may have been abducted by unknown bandits on Tuesday.
Eguma led his team to Gombe to play a League game on Sunday against Adamawa United and a person in the know revealed to NigerianFootballer.com that Eguma did not return to Port Harcourt as he was abducted around the Enugu axis on his way back.
There is no official confirmation from the club, but two impeccable sources within the club have reportedly confirmed the story to be true.
“Coach did not return with us. You know he drives in his own official car. We just heard this and we are waiting to hear from the club management,” one of the sources was quoted as saying under condition of anonymity.
Eguma was said to be travelling with two of his Personal Assistants and it is not now known if they were abducted alongside him or have been released.
Eguma’s is the second high profile kidnapping of a League coach in recent times after Abdulahi Biffo spent about a month in kidnappers den some time ago.
