A notable Nollywood Producer, Mike Omoruyi is in Police custody explaining how he came about some guns found in his possession by security agents.
He was arrested while in custody of one Lar rifle without magazine, one fabricated AK-47 rifle, one air rifle, one pump action gun, one English double barrel gun and two toy guns.
Omoruyi was arrested on Saturday in possession of the guns while driving his vehicle on Obiaruku/Ummuebu Community in Delta State.
Acting Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe (DSP) confirmed the report on behalf of the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Ari Muhammed Ali.
Edafe said further investigation revealed the identity of Omoruyi as a film producer who actually rented the guns for film production purposes.
“Further investigation led to the arrest of the suspected gun-runner, a 57 year old chief Otuya Josiah of Umuebu community who later made a confession that he rented the guns to the producer at the cost of N50,000 for the purposes of film production.
Police investigation is still ongoing as at the time of filling this report.
