President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday paid a ‘surprise visit’ to Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in London, United Kingdom (UK).
The President had travelled to London for the Global Education Summit on Financing Global Partnership for Education (GPE 2021-2025), which held on July 29.
Femi Adesina, the presidential spokesman, had said Buhari is scheduled for a medical appointment after the summit and is expected back in the country in the second week of August.
Meanwhile, Tinubu, a former governor of Lagos, has been out of the country for over a month.
While there had been insinuations around the failing health of Tinubu, the Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and another member of the lower house, James Faleke had at different occasions visited Tinubu in London to disprove the rumors around his health.
“I went to see things for myself. It is just to put the minds and hearts of people to rest that there is nothing for us to worry about,” Sanwo-Olu had said.
“A man has discretion as to decide when to go out of the country and when to return. It is his call.”.
