#UCLdraw: Man City gets PSG, Chelsea to face Juventus
Chelsea will be starting their defence of the Champions League against Juventus after they were placed in Group H in the draws conducted on Thursday.
On their part, Manchester City will be facing Lionel Messi’s PSG in another interesting pairing from Thursday’s draw.
Chelsea who beat Man City in an all-English final last season to win their second UCL title has been placed in Group H along with Juventus, Zenit St Petersburg and Malmo.
For Pep Guardiola’s side, they are in Group A where they will be facing Paris Saint-Germain, RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.
With Cristiano Ronaldo currently linked with a transfer to City and Lionel Messi having joined PSG, there is a chance that two of the sport’s icons could be going head to head.
In Group F, Samuel Chukwueze’s Villarreal will be having a go at Manchester United having been placed against the fellow Europa League finalist.
Chukwueze was injured last season and couldn’t face United but he has a chance to prove himself against the Red Devils this term.
Atalanta and Young Boys are also in Group F.
The group stage will commence on September 14th. The final of this season’s competition will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia, on May 28th, 2022.
