Popular Actor, Victor Olaotan is Dead

Victor Olaotan, a popular Nollywood Actor who is fondly remembered as Fred Ade William in Tinsel, the popular M-Net series, is dead.

He died on Thursday after a long battle with ill-health occasioned by injuries which he sustained from an accident around Oshodi, Lagos while driving to the set of a film in October 2016.

The accident rendered him immobile for many years resulting in heavy investments in medical services which took him out of the shores of the country to Turkey, where he also underwent treatment for a traumatic brain injury before his sad demise.

The death of Victor was confirmed on Friday by his wife Julia Olaotan who said she is grateful that the 69 year old tv personality has finally gone to rest.

“He has tried…It is not easy to be trapped in your own body for five years. He can finally rest now,” she said.

RovingNaija recalls that among other undeniable achievements, Victor Olaotan upped his ante as a seasoned actor and etched his face in the consciousness of entertainment lovers in his role as Fred Ade Williams in the multi-million dollars popular M-Net series, Tinsel.

Aired every Monday and Tuesday at 08:00 pm from September 1, 2008, Tinsel followed the story of two rival film production houses whose fierce battles for box-office dominance saw them taking their rivalry from film-sets to industry boardrooms and everywhere in between, M-Net wrote in its teaser!

Tinsel (produced by 341 Media) would go on to hold its’ own in the entertainment space as the first West African production by M-Net, thanks in part to the dexterity of Victor Olaotan and the high quality of the general cast and crew.

Victor Olaotan will be sorely missed by his contemporaries in the industry and by millions who would remember him as the avuncular looking tv personality of high repute who made acting look like a stroll in a beautiful  garden on a bright, sunny day.
