Wole Soyinka & Chimamanda Adichie Are In The Ring Of Nigeria’s Political Battle- Shehu Sani

The former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani has commented on the criticisms trailing the interview of Professor Wole Soyinka and the open letter written by Chimamanda Adichie to the United States president, Joe Biden.

The Nobel Laureate had condemned the statement made by the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed in an interview on Channels TV Politics Today.

Baba-Ahmed told Seun Okinbaloye that there won’t be inauguration of Bola Tinubu on May 29 because if he is sworn-in, it will amount to the swearing-in of a Military government. He insisted that Tinubu did not fulfill the requirements of the Nigerian constitution to be president.

Reacting to the statement during his special interview on Arise TV Morning Show, Wole Soyinka described Baba-Ahmed Statement as threatening, menacing and condemnable.

Soyinka’s position however did not go down well with supporters of Labour party who have been dragging him on social media since then.

The popular “Purple Hibiscus” author in the letter told Joe Biden not to congratulate Tinubu over his victory at the recently concluded presidential election.

Since then, she has been receiving  heavy knocks and bashes from members of the ruling Party.

Reacting to the controversy, Shehu Sani said: “Wole Soyinka and Chimamanda Adichie are in the ring of Nigeria’s political battle.”
