Champions League: Messi ‘Fumbles’ In PSG Debut

While there were a lot of goals to savour in Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League games, Lionel Messi fired blanks as PSG recorded a disappointing 1-1 draw against Club Brugge.

After an uneventful Ligue 1 debut, many were expecting a better show from Messi in the Champions League but that wasn’t the case as the former Barcelona star had yet another anonymous outing.

Ander Herrera shot the visitors in front on 15 minutes, but Hans Vanaken’s equaliser earned the hosts a deserved draw in front of their vociferous crowd.


Apart from the disappointing result for the Parisians, there was a further setback for PSG as Kylian Mbappe went off injured shortly after half-time.


While Messi failed to make an impact on his Champions League debut for PSG, it was a different scenario at the Etihad Stadium where Manchester City beat RB Leipzig 6-3.
