NPFL: Rangers win big in another pre-season game

As Rangers International F.C continue its pre-season activities ahead of the start of the 2021/2022 football season, the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Wednesday, came from a goal down to extinguish Akwa-Ibom state amateur side, Ngadiuba Sports Academy, 4-1 inside Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu.

The Uyo side took the lead in the quarter-hour when Promise Omini benefitted from slack defending from a team of players on trial for a place in the Enugu side’s squad fielded by the coaching crew but this quickly changed with the change of personalities in the second stanza.

Three quick goals off the boots of Shedrack Asiegbu, Julius Ikechukwu and Elijah Ani on 50, 56 and 60th minutes turned the tides in the favor of the top premiership side while Daniel Vendaga completed the rout on 85 minutes to send back the Christian Okonkwo managed side back to base with their tails between their legs.

The seven-time Nigeria league champions will later on Wednesday, trade tackles with an Enugu state league side, Golden Stars F.C of Uwani inside Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium, Enugu.
