Liberia 0-2 Nigeria: Osimhen, Ahmed Musa shoots Super Eagles to victory

The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Saturday in Tangier, Morocco defeated Liberia 2-0 to stay top of Group C of the Africa World Cup qualifiers with 12pts.

Despite doing the needful against the Lone Stars, the Eagles are yet to confirm their place in the final playoff due to Cape Verde’s 2-1 victory over Central African Republic.

As it stands, Nigeria will have to win or draw at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Tuesday before they can qualify for the final round of #WCQ2022 in March.

Two penalty kicks from Victor Osihmen and Ahmed Musa gifted Nigeria the win in Morocco.

Coach Genort Rohr’s men will be looking to complete the task at home on Tuesday against Cape Verde.

Having suffered a shock loss to the Central African Republic last time out in Lagos, it is expected that the Eagles will be extra cautious on Tuesday.
