The Nigerian Railway Corporation has announced the resumption of train services in the country after two in-house trade unions called off the three-day warning strike which crippled services in some parts of the country.
This was contained in a press release, Saturday, from the office of the Managing Director of the Corporation, which read in part.
“The board and management off the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) wish to inform the general public especially our valued passengers that after consultations with the two in-house unions of the Corporation, the warning strike is hereby called off to pave way for the commencement of train services immediately as contained in the joint communique signed by the Management and the unions.
The Corporation stated that it will implement some safety measure before the commencement of train services.
“…as part of safety measure there will be join inspection of the rail lines by MRC Engineers and security personnel for confirmation of tract safety before trains departures commence.
“The board and management of NRC congratulates the two in-house unions for the successful industrial action.
“The NRC management expresses concern for any inconvenience this strike may have caused its valued passenger.
Meanwhile the Corporation also listed the operational routes for the resumed train services effective 20 November, 2921
