Geidam local government area of Yobe State is currently locked in pandemonium as residents cannot contain the strange sound being heard in the town.
According to a resident who spoke to Journalist on the condition of anonymity, it was reavealed that the locals heard the sound but could neither fathom what it means nor where exactly it was coming from.
The sound was said to have created a panic in such a way that the residents had to rush into their various houses and locked their doors.
“We heard strange sounds which made us to rush home and lock our doors, we have been living in panic and don’t know actually what is happening.” The source told Daily Independent.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Dungus Abdulkarim said that they are making efforts to know the true situation.
