10 passengers have been abducted and taken into the bush by suspected herdsmen in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia State.
According to reports, the travelers boarded the vehicle at the motor park opposite the Abia State University Uturu and were on their way to Akara in Isuikwuato before the incident.
Their vehicle was said to have been flagged down by the bandits who immediately marched the travelers into the bush. The victim’s identities are yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.
Though a gun duel ensued between the abductors and soldiers in a nearby military checkpoint, they managed to escape with their victims.
Highway attacks is the latest model bandits have adopted to carry out their crime.
