West Ham vs Chelsea preview: Team news, H2H, injury, kickoff, and predicted lineup
West Ham United will host Chelsea in Saturday’s early kickoff of the English Premier League.
West Ham has beaten two big teams this season, securing a 1-0 victory over Tottenham and a 3-2 win at home against Liverpool.
Those big wins were recorded at the London Stadium, West Ham’s home ground, and this fixture presents another opportunity for the Hammers to do it again.
West Ham has won seven, drawn three, and lost four of their 14 Premier League matches this season to collect 24 points, which has left them in the fourth position in the table and very much in the mix for a top-four finish.
For Chelsea, they have only lost one game this season – 1-0 to Manchester City and has sat on top of the league table like a landlord and will be looking to stretch their advantage at the top of the Premier League table to four points when they travel to fourth-placed West Ham United on Saturday afternoon.
The Blues are the favorite to win this one as they have not tasted defeat to any other team except City this season.
Head to head
West Ham is the most successful side in their last five meetings.
The Hammers have two wins and two draws, while Chelsea beat West Ham just once.
Injury
Angelo Ogbonna is yet to return to West Ham due to a long-term knee problem, but the side is hopeful that Aaron Cresswell will recover in time to feature.
Three Chelsea players have been ruled out of this one. Mateo Kovacic and Ben Chilwell will again definitely be absent, while Trevor Chalobah is expected to miss out with the hamstring problem that he suffered against Watford.
Kickoff
Kickoff time has been set for 1:30 pm
Ref
Andre Marriner will be the man in the middle.
Predicted lineup:
